Where to Go From Here?
Where to Go From Here?
By popular demand, I've added a variant of the Ashkenazi trope. At the start of this course, listen to the samples of style 1 and style 2. If one is more familiar, then that's the one you want to learn! If neither is familiar, learn the one that most appeals to you! Each lesson includes both styles.
Both of these trope variations can be used in any North American Ashkenazi synagogue or havurah. Some congregations tend to use one more than another - but they are both equally acceptable!! The differences are minor are really only apply to the three basic clauses. The other trope signs are the same in both styles.
Personally, I was raised with style 1 and this is what I use wherever I am. I probably hear style 2 a bit more often. I'm using my own language of styles 1 and 2 because there is no common convention to distinguish between these two systems.
